On Wednesday, June 29, the broadcast of Channel 4’s documentary, “The Women Who Kill Lions” became the main target of criticism in social networks. It was about 1 hour in which the hunters Jacine Jadresko (Croatian-Canadian) and Rebecca Francis (American) justified their pride in killing wild animals saying that it makes them feel “wonderful” and “alive.” The worst of all? They described this hobby as a skill they are willing to teach their children.
A trailer for the documentary “The Women Who Kill Lions”:
Viewers responded indignantly through social networks. They could not believe that they killed animals in danger of extinction for pleasure, or that a television channel was giving them screen.
Francis has received harsh criticism for her behavior. Thousands of people have signed a petition to ban him from hunting in Croatia.
Hopefully, this documentary will finally serve to raise awareness of the damage sport hunting can produce. On the need to protect endangered species. To end the violence. And to teach future generations to be better.
